RDA Group Hosts Oakland University Students

On March 26th RDA Group hosted Oakland University Professor Brian Palmer's MKT 405 - Marketing Research students at our corporate headquarters in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Professor Brian Palmer asked RDA to give the students a real world look at market research.

The students' time at RDA began with a presentation, which delved into the history and current workings of RDA, a trip through a completed project, and ended with advice on a market research as career choice.

The highlight of the presentation was the detailed look at an RDA project. The students had the opportunity to learn about the many components of a project, including request for quotes (RFQ), working with the client, setting project objectives, questionnaire design, sample design, analyzing data, and focus groups.

The students were also given a tour of the RDA Group facilities. The tour began in the RDA Great Lakes Focus Group Room and then continued to our production areas - with stops in the mailroom, data collection, and the call center. This portion of the students' visit allowed them to have a context off of which to base the readings and lectures in their market research class. It essentially puts a concrete foundation under the concepts that when read in a textbook can seem abstract.

Professor Palmer has brought his Oakland University students to RDA Group in the past and has indicated that "the students speak very highly of the tour in their course evaluations."
